The TERINOV – Terceira Island Science and Technology Park business ecosystem made a record appearance at SIM Conference 2026, with the participation of 29 startups based at the Park, one of the main entrepreneurship and innovation events held annually in Portugal.
For TERINOV’s Executive Director, Duarte Pimentel, this figure is “a reflection of the quality of the projects that make up the Park’s business ecosystem, as well as the determination, capacity, competence and strategic vision of people who are transforming the Atlantic condition of the Azores into an opportunity for innovation and recognition”.
“SIM Conference brings together hundreds of leaders, decision-makers and investors, providing Azorean startups, in just two days, with opportunities for contact, visibility and access to funding that, under normal circumstances, would require a much longer and more dispersed process. It is precisely this ability to generate strategic connections and foster matchmaking with investors that makes the event attractive,” added the executive.
“Being at SIM Conference with this significant number of companies is to position the entrepreneurship and innovation developed in the Azores at the centre of the national ecosystem, creating new opportunities for collaboration, investment and growth for our startups,” concluded Duarte Pimentel.
Of the 29 startups that travelled to Porto, 12 benefited from their own booth, allocated by Startup Portugal as part of TERINOV’s presence, while the remaining startups also secured their participation and showcase through the Park’s collective stand.
