The Regional Government of the Azores, through the Office of the Vice-Presidency, has just launched the digital platform Invest In Azores to boost the attraction of external investment and the international promotion of the Region.
Invest In Azores centralizes all institutional communication on business opportunities, available incentives, and the competitive advantages of the Autonomous Region of the Azores, establishing itself as an operational platform for attracting external investment.
The new platform integrates into a single channel all prospecting and follow-up activities for potential investors, enhancing the international visibility of the Azores through a strategy based on proximity, credibility, and continuity.
According to the Vice-President of the Regional Government, Artur Lima, the launch of Invest In Azores “unequivocally reflects the Government’s efforts to reinforce the Azores' presence on the national and international map, in an increasingly competitive global context.”
The Vice-President highlighted that the Government of the Azores has been creating competitive conditions to attract investment, “including a highly advantageous tax regime, modern infrastructure, and a strong commitment to research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.”
The Region “has been following a path of economic and technological transformation,” noted Artur Lima, adding, however, that “the Government continues to act to boost the attraction of external investment and foster diversification, modernization, and the competitiveness of the Azorean economy.”
“Our privileged position at the crossroads between Europe, America, and Africa makes the Azores a natural hub for global business and investment,” he stated.
This location “is now strategic for global digital connectivity and for sectors such as Research and Data Science,” emphasized the Vice-President.
In this regard, “the Government of the Azores has been working to position the Region as the ideal destination for investment in these and other fields,” he said.
“This same spirit was present in the Region’s accession this year to DETA, the International Alliance for Disruptive and Emerging Technologies,” stated Artur Lima.
“These are decisive steps within a broader strategy that seeks to integrate the Azores into the global circuits of innovation and investment,” he concluded.
